Having trouble being heard on calls?
If other people can’t hear you clearly during calls, don’t worry. Follow the steps below to help identify and fix the problem.
1. Check your microphone
Make sure nothing is blocking the microphone. Remove any phone cases, screen protectors or accessories that could be covering it.
Try recording a voice note or short video. Play it back to check whether your voice sounds clear.
If the issue only happens in one app, check your phone’s privacy settings and confirm that the app has permission to use the microphone.
2. Clean your device
Remove any cases, screen protectors or protective films.
Gently clean the microphone and speaker areas using:
A soft-bristled toothbrush dipped lightly in rubbing alcohol, or
Painter’s tape to lift away dust and debris
Take care not to push dirt further into the openings.
3. Update your software
Keeping your device up to date can fix known issues.
On iOS devices:
Back up your device.
Go to Settings > General > Software Update and install any available updates.
You can also update your device using a computer.
On Android devices:
Go to Settings > System > System update.
Follow the on-screen instructions to install the latest update.
Try these steps to improve call quality and make sure you’re heard loud and clear. If the issue continues, your device may need further support or repair.
